Congratulations you have progressed through our level two classes! Or maybe you are a Blue Belt in Jiu Jitsu or higher….  In which case you are now ready to excel in the advanced classes!  These classes are for those that are serious about the way they wish to sharpen their personal growth and skills in Jiu Jitsu. This class is taught by Brown and Black Belts only who will go into depth with each movement and linking them with other techniques, breaking them down and drilling them in a most optimum order. Designed to build onto existing concepts and new techniques our
advanced classes will stay on a particular series or position for the course of a month. This is to help make sure the students are taking in the techniques with full awareness of the mechanics of how the movements are supposed to feel and work.

Mbuna Competition Team

Dive Right In

Fri @ 5:15pm

Is your child in our Jiu Jitsu program, but wants to take it one step further? Competing is always a great option, but our Mbuna team is something more than just your run-of-the-mill fight team, it gives each member a chance to be something MORE.

Our Kids Mbuna Competition team comes from humble beginnings, starting back in October of 2016 from just a group of our little grapplers wanting to compete more and more. What used to be called Friday Night Fights evolved into a uniformed, and TOUGH team that has raised over thousands of dollars for various charities.

We like to think of every competitor as a little Philanthropist. A requirement to be a part of this team is to pick a charity to sponsor in order to give back to the community! The kids go out to compete, and beforehand ask anybody whether its family members, friends, teachers, etc. for sponsorship money. (EX. If they get a bronze, they ask for 20 dollars, if they get a silver, 40 dollars, gold 60 dollars, etc.) Our competitors do not get to keep this money, they give whatever money they raised to whatever charity organization they picked out!

That is the main requirement of being on the team. Here are some other ones;
All participants that want to join have to come to a try out period. This just means they have to come to our Friday night Mbuna class at 5:15pm, for 8 weeks without skipping. This ensures that they learn what it takes to be on a team as they are all helping each other get ready for their individual matches at Jiu Jitsu Tournaments.

Every student also has to be wearing a black Gi, black shorts, and a black rash guard. Uniformity is a big deal when we run these practices! One big thing we need to get out of the air is that this Mbuna practice does not count for stripes. Of course the practice counts, they just will not be ranking up in their belt level for these classes. This is a huge thing because for anybody who wants to compete, we recommend you doing at least 2 normal Jiu Jitsu classes a week, and also coming to our Mbuna practice every Friday at 5:15pm.

* Randori

Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday @ 11:00am
Saturday @ 11:30am

Randori an ancient Japanese term that describes “sparring”.

At the 303 Training Center Randori’s have been a favorite amongst members and guests, a 12 year staple on our mats.

Sessions are a mix between Gi and Nogi. The schedule has been the same attire, same days and times since the day we opened in 2010 so you can  always count on fellow members being there no matter what day, time or session type.

Randori is different than Open Mat so here is our short list of etiquette and requirements to help keep these sessions true to their nature.

  1. Please be on time and smelling fresh.

  2. 2 lines are formed amongst participants. With each member lined up directly in front of another member. This person will be your first round and often this is a warm up round.

  3. 6 Minute Rounds 1 Minute rest for 60 minutes straight.

  4. At the end of each round participant immediately go back to the line and line up directly in front of the member they just grappled.

  5. Once everybody is lined back up each participant rotates one position to the right. And just like that you have a new partner to grapple! Now go get a drink of water if you need too, then hurry back to your partner before the rest time ends! Slap hands, bump fists and go! Then repeat the process until the Randori has finished!

  6. Randori participants should NOT leave the session early. If you must leave, we understand and you are welcome back but there is NO re-entry for that session. No exceptions. Test your grit, don’t quit!

  7. This can be an intense session but safety is number one.  Please take care of yourself first. Tapping is not losing its wisdom on many levels. Please tap if necessary!

  8. Please give others a fair chance to tap but it is just as important to make sure you are taking care of others mentally and all around physically.

  9. Please trim all your nails and remove any jewelry that may harm you or your partners.

  10. We recommend every member with two stripes on their white belt or higher should attend these sessions-at least once a week.

Now bump fists and go!!

* Open Mat

Monday & Friday @11:00am
Tuesday and Thursday @7:30pm

Open mat is different than Randori In a few different ways.
The only true requirement of an “Open Mat” is members show up on time, and in the required attire whether that’s a “Gi” day or “NoGi” day.
Other than that the sessions are up to you and how you would like to train that day.  Members are not required to line up and “roll” with any other member. Members are allowed to leave the session early however we highly recommend you stay the whole hour.
Many times, session are utilized for members to meet up and drill techniques, or just train with your favorite partner or partners the whole session! Other times members meet up and just roll casually by picking their own partners. These classes are lots of fun and you can count on people always being there!
So round up your favorite training partners and jump in!  All belts welcome!

* NoGi Jiu Jitsu

Wed @12pm ~Thurs @6:30pm ~OPEN MAT Sessions : Thurs @7:30
Mon & FRi @ 11:30

All these sessions are Intermediate level classes and require two stripes on your white belt or up to attend.

There is at least one NoGi session almost every day.  Included in these are Open Mats and Randori’s

Classes are all aimed on the most up-to-date and fundamental NoGi movements and theory.

Adding this session to your BJJ schedule will certainly be fun and improve your all-around grappling!  Check the schedule and mark your favorite NoGi session and head on in!
