RFLX Combat Wrestling

303 RFLX Combat Wrestling

The RFLX Combat Wrestling Program is designed to bridge the gap between stand up/striking and ground/grappling.

This groundbreaking program has been developed for martial artists of all styles as well as individuals interested in self defense. The Combat Wrestling System is unique in that it starts with wrestling as the foundation for it’s formidable defenses and offenses.

Techniques from all the three wrestling styles (folkstyle, freestyle, and greco roman) have been included to create an easily integrated program for any martial art. Combat Wrestling stresses the use of Greco Roman Wrestling for close quarter combat. We have also utilized all aspects of sport wrestling’s ground control positions for ground and pound and scramble ability. The techniques do not rely on fine motor skills, can be learned quickly and are proven to work under stress.

RFLX Combat Wrestling For MMA

“The Perfect compliment for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu”

The Missing Link: RFLX Combat Wrestling was developed to bridge the gap between striking and the ground game. The curriculum incorporates the elements of wrestling that many stand up fighters are missing and, at the same time, teaches how to control and beat the skilled wrestler. On the other side, wrestlers learn how to use effective striking and make the most of their skill set in the MMA arena.

Wrestling for Jiu Jitsu, Judo, Muay Thai, Karate and Boxing:  Competitors from other martial arts styles can benefit greatly from the wrestling tradition. Until now, the only way to get wrestling experience was in high school or college. Wrestling clubs are set up to teach collegiate wrestling and are geared toward scholastic competitors. RFLX Combat Wrestling is the perfect compliment to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Takedowns – offense and defense: Wrestlers have a big advantage when it comes to takedowns especially. Good wrestlers are notoriously tough to takedown and control and when they get an opponent down they are tough to get off. In the MMA game, even the best jiu jitsu players don’t usually like to be on the bottom.

RFLX Combat Wrestling For Self Defense

Intelligent Use of Force and Progressive Control: The RFLX Combat Wrestling System is uniquely suited for effectiveness across a wide variety of self defense situations. RFLX CWS allows the student to meet a threat with an appropriate measure of force and control without relying on fine motor skills which inevitably fail under extreme stress.

Social and Legal Considerations: Because the claim of self defense is an affirmative defense in a legal setting, it is critical that the individual be able to defend himself in a court of law as well as on the street. Many situations do not require a potentially lethal response.

Mastering the Standing Clinch / Trap Distance: In terms of self defense, it is very important to master the clinch position.  RFLX Combat Wrestling emphasizes attaining superior position from standing. That means stopping the takedown attempt and controlling the threat from a top position. Many people think of wrestling as being on the ground but the real strength is the standing clinch.

Train Hard and Stay Safe: This curriculum is unique in that it allows students to train with intensity and stay injury free. If you are injured, you can’t train so staying healthy is very important.

Fitness with a Purpose: It’s no secret that wrestlers and grapplers are the most fit humans on the planet. RFLX Combat Wrestling combined with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is the BEST way to get fit and get skills!
